Dean Del Vecchio is Chief Information and Operations Officer at The Guardian Life Insurance Company of America (Guardian).

In this role, Dean is responsible for defining and implementing a strategic technology vision that is aligned with the Company’s long-term growth initiatives and ongoing business objectives. He also leads Enterprise Customer Service and Operations and provides strategic oversight for Guardian’s shared services organization in India, as well as Real Estate and Facilities, Physical Security, Office Services and Enterprise Imaging.

Dean has significant leadership experience driving strategic growth using innovative solutions across the finance, healthcare and news media industries. His cross-industry experience helps Guardian think differently about how to leverage technology in order to drive growth and accelerate our digital transformation.

Prior to joining Guardian, Dean was SVP, CIO, and Global Head of IT Shared Services at News Corp. and Dow Jones, where he had responsibility for creating new and distinctive platforms for news and information delivery, as well as leading all application development and technology infrastructure. In addition to the CIO role, he served as the Company’s Chief Administrative Officer, accountable for a real estate portfolio of 160 global locations and creating a vision and plan to improve administrative service, delivery and processes.

Dean is a member of the MIB Group Inc. Board of Directors and sits on the Audit Committee and is a member of the NPower Board of Directors and sits on their Nominating Committee. In addition, he is a member of the Amazon Web Services Financial Services Advisory Council, a Board Member for TechPact and for Avēsis LLC, and is Board Chair of ReedGroup. He is also part of McKinsey’s Life Insurance and Retirement Technology Executive Roundtable (LARTER).

In addition, Dean is actively engaged with over a dozen other organizations, serving as Director, Board member or Council member.

He earned his M.B.A. with honors from Villanova University.
