Guardian Extends Policy on Teledentistry
In response to the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic and the ADA guidance that dentists should focus on emergency care, Guardian is making a temporary expansion to our claims policies for Teledentistry.
We will now approve CDT Teledentistry Codes D9995 and D9996 when utilized to provide services to our members. When billing for these services, the Teledentistry procedure codes should be submitted along with codes D0140, D0170, or D0171.
We will be granting this additional benefit through June 30, when we will reassess the current situation and determine future direction.
