We’re investing in our culture

We focus on providing an environment where our employees feel free to bring their authentic selves to work. This starts with a commitment to inclusion and diversity from senior management and includes tools and training on important topics such as unconscious bias as well as a curriculum of diversity-related courses on our internal learning system.

Employees looking to enhance their career development and gain insightful information about the consumers we serve can join any of our eight Employee Resource Groups. These colleague-led organizations play an important role in helping our colleagues build connections and understanding, drive an inclusive culture, lead tough conversations so that we may learn and grow, and guide our Company, our leaders, and our business decisions.

  • BeIN is committed to providing black colleagues opportunities to develop personally and professionally as leaders and enriching the cultural knowledge of Guardian’s community through initiatives that will attract, develop, and engage diverse talent.

  • The BOLT Network is dedicated to supporting a new generation in the workforce, helping them to realize their potential and leverage lifelong networking opportunities to create a comfortable and familiar community within the workplace. BOLT aims to educate the experienced workforce on the​ benefits of a new generation in the workplace, while learning new skills and best practices to work in unity cross-generationally and help Guardian attract clients from younger generations.

  • Guardian’s Veterans and Allies promotes a greater understanding of the value and continued contributions that veterans and their families bring to our organization. The group’s purpose is to serve as an information and support network for those that have served, or are currently serving, in our Armed Forces and their families.

  • LA VIDA! connects Latinx/Hispanic colleagues and engages allies at all levels of the organization to help Guardian attract, retain, develop, and endorse an environment of advocacy, inclusion, and diversity. The ERG strives to build a culture where all colleagues can thrive by bringing diverse perspectives that contribute to Guardian's business goals. ​

  • The Pride Alliance supports lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer colleagues and their allies with a clear mission to create a positive, inclusive work environment for employees, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity.

  • The Women's Leadership Network provides women with professional development and other resources they need to take their career to the next level. The network is also open to men, who can be advocates and allies when building greater gender-balance at all levels of leadership.

  • The Asian Inclusion Diversity Alliance (AIDA) is an employee resource group that focuses on supporting and connecting Asian colleagues and allies throughout the organization to promote an inclusive workplace and foster a diverse culture where colleagues feel heard, valued and a sense of belonging. We are committed to achieving this through educational opportunities, professional development for Asian colleagues across the organization, and a commitment to community engagement.

  • Equally Enabled is an employee resource group that focuses on supporting colleagues who have visible and invisible disabilities, connecting them with allies across the organization, and fostering a culture where colleagues feel heard, valued, and a sense of belonging. This ERG also provides us a platform for continuing our focus on mental wellness. We are committed to achieving this through educational opportunities, professional development for our Equally Enabled colleagues across the organization, and a commitment to community engagement.

We have formed strategic partnerships with organizations who are dedicated to fighting for a better future.

Our commitment to Inclusion & Diversity is an integral part of our approach to Corporate Social Responsibility. Our strategic community investments focus on providing marginalized communities with economic opportunity and access to quality healthcare through our nonprofit partnerships in financial education, job and workplace training, and affordable dental care. From leveraging the skills and passions of our colleagues with Guardian for Good volunteering, to building a diverse talent pipeline, we collaborate with and fund nonprofit organizations that are fighting to help provide better futures for the most vulnerable and underserved in every phase of their life, health, and wealth.

  • We are proud to invest in NPower and their mission to provide Black and Brown youth and veterans with technology and digital training to help build a diverse technology workforce. NPower creates pathways to economic prosperity by launching digital careers for young people in traditionally underserved communities in the United States.

  • As a corporate partner of AnitaB.org, an organization that supports the growth, development, and inclusion of women technologists, we’re supporting equity within the field.

  • By partnering with Ellevate, a global organization that offers women the opportunity to network and learn from each other, we’re strengthening access to education and opportunities.

  • We’re a sponsor of Howard University's Financial Services, Insurance, and Risk Management Symposium, which provides students with an in-depth look at the insurance industry and the many rewarding career opportunities that our profession offers.
