While many health care workers find their careers rewarding, staff shortages, burnout, and declining job satisfaction challenge the industry’s future. Likewise, health care workers’ overall well-being lags compared to those in other industries.

Only 31% of health care workers rate their mental health as very good/excellent, and 44% are concerned about having a financial plan to achieve their major financial goals — higher than any other industry.

With only 2 in 5 health care workers feeling that their employer offers benefits that meet their needs, many health care organizations may be falling behind in providing innovative benefits that support a modern workforce. Through understanding the issues their workers are facing and re-evaluating their benefits offerings and strategies, health care organizations have a prime opportunity to develop a culture of care that values workers’ well-being as much as patient care.
