Guardian grows careers
Join a company that makes it clear they care about employees. At Guardian, continuous learning and career development is an intrinsic part of the corporate culture. From Day One, our employees are part of the Guardian community.
Why development is linked to our value system
The corporate culture at Guardian is built on a core set of values. We truly embody our values: people count, we do the right thing, and we hold ourselves to very high standards. We firmly believe that developing our people from within is a way to strengthen the company.
Professional and leadership development
At Guardian, a variety of professional and leadership development programs, courses, and e-learning are available to broaden our employees’ knowledge and skill sets. In addition, we have various organizational partnerships where employees can attend external trainings and conferences at a discounted cost. These development opportunities are frequently assessed through employee engagement surveys, focus groups, and discussions, to make sure we’re meeting the needs of our staff, today and in the future.
Guardian is dedicated to growing our employees’ careers, and performance management is an important part of driving that effort. We ensure that employees can engage in ongoing dialogue with their managers to make progress against benchmarks, develop new skills, and assess what has been accomplished each year toward their career goals.
As part of Guardian’s continuous learning culture, we’ve built close professional relationships with many learning and research organizations, including the American Management Association (AMA), the Life Insurance and Market Research Association (LIMRA), the Institute for Management Studies (IMS), the Corporate Leadership Council (CLC), and The Conference Board. Because of our partnerships, employees have access to webinars, conferences, and seminars at reduced cost or no charge.
We know that professional training can involve significant out-of-pocket expenses. Guardian makes it a practice to encourage employees to develop the knowledge and skills needed to succeed. We offer educational assistance programs to help offset the cost, as well as assistance in earning college degrees and completing other levels of job-related education.
