Sandra Callahan Named New Senior Vice President, Chief Executive Officer of ReedGroup
NEW YORK, N.Y., January 8, 2019 – The Guardian Life Insurance Company of America® (Guardian) today announced that Sandra (Sandy) Callahan has joined the company as Senior Vice President and Chief Executive Officer of ReedGroup. Sandy’s extensive background in the group insurance business, and specific experience heading absence management and disability business lines, make her ideally suited to extend ReedGroup’s leading position in the market.

Over the course of her career, Sandy had responsibility for strategic, operational and financial oversight of a variety of Group insurance business lines and has successfully designed and launched dynamic business models that have challenged industry norms. She joins from The Hartford where she was Senior Vice President for Group Insurance Operations and responsible for Aetna’s post-acquisition integration. Prior to that she was president of Aetna’s Group Insurance business, leading nearly 2,000 employees and driving strategy and management of a $2.2B product portfolio. Sandy has also held senior leadership roles at Lincoln Financial Group and Mutual of Omaha.
