Guardian Designated a ‘Best Place to Work for LGBT Equality’ by Human Rights Campaign’s Corporate Equality Index

New York, NY, November 13, 2017 -- Guardian^®, one of the nation’s largest mutual life insurers and a leading provider of employee benefits, has earned a perfect score of 100 in the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) Foundation’s 2018 Corporate Equality Index and in recognition of its commitment to diversity and inclusion has been designated a “Best Places to Work for LGBT Equality”.

HRC’s 2018 Corporate Equality Index is a national benchmarking survey that evaluates corporate policies and practices related to LGBT workplace equality, including non-discrimination workplace protections, domestic partner benefits, transgender-inclusive health care benefits, competency programs, and public engagement with the LGBT community.

Guardian supported a host of efforts throughout the year that resulted in the company achieving a perfect score. Guardian also raised its overall supplier diversity spend and for the first time documented the portion allocated to small businesses owned by those who identify as LGBT or disabled.
