Video transcript: Refocus on preventive health care

One of my biggest concerns right now is that we are all so-- with these competing priorities-- we are all so focused on all the halo issues that surround the pandemic that we're not paying close enough attention to the hush crush. We are no doubt still in the hush, and it continues to replicate over and over again. So not only preventive care, which is bad enough, quite frankly-- we were all never the greatest at getting preventive care numbers where they should be-- but chronic care, more importantly.
So people with diabetes and heart disease and cancer are still, data is showing, not going back elective surgeries, MSK disease, those diseases have continued to progress in the last two years. At some point, we are going to have to turn our attention from pandemic-related issues back to issues of quality and cost of care.
