Employee leave —whether medical or illness related, or for life events, such as maternity and bereavement—can be a handful to coordinate and manage. That’s why, we’re here to help make things easier for you and for your employees who may already be facing difficult times. With Guardian Absence Solutions®, we deliver a seamless, simplified claims experience so you can focus on supporting your employees and employees can focus on taking care of themselves. When employees need to take a leave of absence, there are several ways they, or their family members, or even you on their behalf, can initiate a claim. They can either go online to our easy-to-use, self-service portal or they can call our toll-free number to speak directly with a live representative. From there, we guide them through a few simple steps where they can quickly and easily provide any required medical records or documentation, enroll in direct deposit, and electronically sign forms. Once the claim is submitted, you will be notified via email, and a Guardian absence manager will be automatically assigned to see the claim through from start to finish.
Your absence manager will review and manage all the leave and disability programs your employee may be eligible for, without the need for any additional claim submissions and in compliance with the latest state and federal leave laws. Throughout the claims process, both you and your employee will receive real-time status updates via email or the employee’s preferred contact method.
Your absence manager is just a phone call away, but if more convenient, your employee can schedule time online with their absence manager to go over any information and get answers to questions.
The absence manager is also there to coordinate additional support if needed, including in-house vocational rehabilitation or behavioral health specialists who will help ensure your employee can return to work in a safe and timely manner.
You can also visit the online portal anytime to check on the status of all your employees’ claims, review return-to-work dates and more as well as run a variety of reports and filter the data so you can see information in a way that works best for you.
