Today, we'll be spotlighting our connection with Employee Navigator. I'm joined with Kyle Reese, vice president of sales and partnerships for Employee Navigator. Can you tell us about Employee Navigator's platform and the markets you serve?
Absolutely. So we build benefits administration and HR software for brokers and their customers. And that includes specific products like benefits administration, ACA reporting, new hire onboarding, and much more. We also spend a lot of time building out modern, high quality integrations with insurance carriers like Guardian, as well as payroll companies and TPAs with the objective of eliminating as much manual work as possible from a broker's office or HR departments.
As of August 2022, there are about 65,000 companies actively on Employee Navigator covering about 12 million lives on the platform. And we work with about 3,000 brokers throughout the country.
That's great. Let's talk a little bit about the value of the integrations that our organizations have been building together and how they improve the experience for our mutual customers.
Yeah, so I think the primary objective that we have in working with Guardian is to make it easier for brokers, HR, and employees to do business with both Employee Navigator and Guardian. And I'd highlight two ways that we're focused on actually achieving that objective. Number one is by focusing on automation. And we're doing that by automating the enrollment processing between Employee Navigator and Guardian. And we're rolling out integrated EOI processes and integrated plan set up to reduce that plan setup time that brokers are responsible for.
The second objective that we have is a focus on data quality. We're constantly working with Guardian to minimize any ongoing errors. And when errors do crop up, we spend a lot of time working together to identify the root causes of those issues so that we can eliminate them from coming up in the future.
So let's talk a little bit more about the APIs that we've recently launched with Employee Navigator.
Yeah, so I think the first objective that we had was to make it easier for brokers and HR to manage enrollments between Employee Navigator and Guardian. And now, we have at this point, several thousand companies that are using the modern integration that we've developed over the last several years.
The next step that we took in 2022 was really to turn our attention to improving the EOI process that I think we both agree most HR departments, brokers, and employees struggle with as it relates to just the manual nature of an EOI process. And we've been able to deliver an integrated EOI process that provides automatic updates on statuses to employees. And so that was really phase two.
We're now spending time talking about phase three, and we're really excited about our next initiative with Guardian, which includes what we're calling a Policy API. And the goal of the policy API is to reduce plan setup time for brokers. So typically, when a broker is using a benefits administration product like Employee Navigator, they're responsible for setting up all of the plans in our system.
With this new Policy API, we're aiming to save brokers huge amounts of time by eliminating that plan setup process because we are going to be able to pull in plan details directly from Guardian system, eliminating the need, again, for brokers to do that setup on their own.
Great. And lastly at your March conference, you shared a preview of the connection that we've built together. And what was the feedback on the value of those connections?
Yeah, it's a great question. And I think it would be an understatement to say anything other than the response has been overwhelmingly positive. As soon as the broker saw the huge leap in the level of automation that we're rolling out with Guardian, they've been chomping at the bit to get access to this new partnership. It's not every day that we see people get excited about insurance technology, but I think that's what we're seeing today. And that has us really excited about the future and what we're going to continue to deliver to brokers and HR departments.
That's great, Kyle. And thank you for sharing your insights on the platform and highlighting the capabilities we've built together. We're excited about these connections for our joint customers. And for additional information, please contact your Guardian or Employee Navigator representative.
