Video transcript - Eliminate the barrier to mental health by creating a stigma-free culture
[MUSIC PLAYING] Just simply adding the solution or expanding coverage won't necessarily fix a problem or change the perception that there's access or that there's a benefit out there, but really, really takes that leadership or culture change, that buy-in from leadership, so that people actually feel like it's OK to use the service. It's one thing to have it, but to be able to feel comfortable and able to access the benefit and talk about the benefit is a whole separate kind of battle on its own.
One of the policies that could be added is kind of expanding coverage. So whether that's to retirees or to part-time employees, we've seen a trend in increasing the availability of services to folks in their workforce, as well as kind of even just increasing the richness of the benefits. So whether that's additional sponsored sessions at no cost to a member.
There's also been some organizations that have waived or reduced the cost-sharing piece for people accessing mental health or substance abuse services through their health plan. Certainly, looking at telehealth resources as well has been a trend. And then flexible work schedules, whether that's even just calling or classifying a PTO day as a mental health day has certainly been another sort of trend, if you will, as we think about policy changes.
