Jean LaTorre is Chief Investment Officer at The Guardian Life Insurance Company of America (Guardian). In this role, she is responsible for investment policy and strategy across all investment categories, including public and private equity, fixed income and commercial real estate that will help deliver competitive dividends and financial confidence for Guardian policyholders.
Prior to joining Guardian, Jean had a nearly 30-year career at Aetna, where she was Chief Investment Officer and Corporate Economist overseeing the management of more than $40 billion in diversified assets. Additionally, she led the pensions business and economic analysis, and chaired Aetna Capital Management, the company's fully owned hedge fund.
Early in her career, she worked at the Municipal Bond Insurance Association and the investment bank Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette.
With more than 35 years of investment experience, Jean is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA). She earned a Master of Business Administration from New York University's Stern School of Business and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and English from the State University of New York at Albany.
