When a review of case notes revealed an employee in an emotional downward spiral, Guardian took the opportunity to outreach and discuss the need for therapeutic support along with referrals for support groups available in her area.
While there are hundreds of stories we could share, this is one that speaks to the heart of what it means to be a Behavioral Health Case Manager at Guardian.
As with all our professional resources, the Behavioral Health Case Manager reflects our holistic, total-person approach to disability, which encompasses both the physical and the mental. As a consultant to the Claim Managers, the Behavioral Health Case Manager will review medical files and provide a clinical assessment of the severity of symptoms. In addition, they will outreach directly to employees to recommend appropriate programs such as Employee Assistance Programs and support groups to ensure that all necessary and available resources are understood and easily accessed.
