Dean A. Del Vecchio
Executive Vice President, Chief Information Officer & Head of Enterprise Shared Services
Dean Del Vecchio is Executive Vice President, Chief Information Officer & Head of Enterprise Shared Services for The Guardian Life Insurance Company of America.
He is responsible for defining and implementing a strategic technology vision that is aligned with the company’s long-term growth initiatives and ongoing business objectives. He also provides strategic oversight for Guardian’s Real Estate and Facilities; Enterprise Shared Services organization which includes Physical Security, Office Services, Source to Pay and Enterprise Imaging; and Guardian’s Group and Worksite Customer Service Delivery, including Guardian India.
Mr. Del Vecchio has significant leadership experience driving strategic growth using innovative solutions across the banking, healthcare, and news media industries. His cross-industry experience helps Guardian to think differently about how we leverage technology to grow, service our customers, and evolve as a company.
Prior to joining Guardian, Mr. Del Vecchio was SVP, CIO, and Global Head of IT Shared Services at News Corp. and Dow Jones, where he had responsibility for creating new and distinctive platforms for news and information delivery, and leading all application development and technology infrastructure.
In addition to the CIO role, Mr. Del Vecchio served as the company’s Chief Administrative Officer, creating a vision and plan to improve administrative service, delivery, and processes.
Mr. Del Vecchio is a member of the Beta Gamma Sigma Honor Society, a governing body member of the CIO Executive Summit, and a member of the MIB Group Inc. Board of Directors and sits on the MIB Audit Committee. He is also a Director of the Park Avenue Life Insurance Company (PALIC), Family Service Life Insurance Company (FSLIC), Sentinel American Life Insurance Company (SALIC), and GIS Strategic Ventures (GIS SV) subsidiary Boards. He was a member on Gartner’s Global IT Council for Cloud Services and the HCL Customer Advisory Council. He earned his M.B.A. with honors from Villanova University.
