New York City Employees Take Part in Habitat for Humanity Build Day
Habitat Photo
In December 2006, several Guardian employees from the Home Office area took part in the first-ever, Guardian sponsored Habitat for Humanity Build Day in New York City. The employees (pictured at left) worked alongside future residents of an apartment complex in the borough of Brooklyn, to help them take an important step toward home ownership.
While much has been accomplished in addressing affordable housing issues in our local communities, there is a clear need for ongoing support. Recognizing this, and understanding the positive, lasting effects that come from our assistance, Guardian is proud of its community involvement initiatives and takes pride in our associates' enthusiasm to help people in need. Based on the success of our first New York City Habitat Build Day, and the numerous requests from other Home Office associates who wanted to participate, the company sponsored another Build Day in May 2007 and plans to do twice each year.
