NEW YORK, September 25, 2007 — The Guardian Life Insurance Company of America (Guardian) today announced the latest enhancements to its universal life insurance lineup. The Universal Life (UL) Gold Series was developed at a time when UL continues to grow in popularity. According to a recent study by LIMRA International, UL accounts for more than 40% of all individual life premiums sold in the U.S.
The enhancements to Guardian's Universal Life portfolio were designed to provide a wider selection of options to individuals and small business owners. The UL Gold Series combines the affordability of term life insurance with the advantages of the permanent protection offered through traditional whole life insurance and the added degree of stability as part of Guardian's general account.
"The launch of this series reflects our continued commitment to providing flexible and innovative solutions designed with our policyholders in mind," said David Allen, senior vice president, Individual Markets, Guardian. "Our expanded UL Gold Series is the latest addition to Guardian's solid life product portfolio and will continue to give our agents a competitive advantage in serving individuals and small business owners. Our long history of financial strength and reputation for strong returns provides the stability that generations of our policyholders have counted on."
Guardian's UL Gold Series features ULtraLife Gold, a competitively priced option for clients in the market for permanent protection; ULtraMax Gold, an ideal vehicle for business owners or affluent individuals managing sizeable estates by providing high, early cash values; and UL Protector Gold, a product available exclusively through Guardian agents that provides policyholders low guaranteed premiums.
"At a time when individuals have more personal responsibility for their financial future, the need for financial advice and products that will help them prepare for retirement, succession and estate planning is essential," said Robert Lehmert, vice president, Life Marketing Services. "Our Universal Life Gold Series is the latest addition to Guardian's robust breadth of products and solutions that serve the interests of small business owners and families."
