NEW YORK, N.Y., November 28, 2005 — The Guardian Life Insurance Company of America (Guardian), the fourth largest mutual life insurance company in the United States, was recently honored by the State of Israel Bonds Insurance Division.
Guardian President and CEO Dennis J. Manning accepted the Neil D. Levin Memorial Award on behalf of the company during the annual luncheon for the State of Israel Bonds' Insurance Division, which was attended by more than 250 diplomats, insurance industry, business and community leaders. The award is named for the former state insurance superintendent, who lost his life in the September 11th World Trade Center attacks. Howard Mills, superintendent of the New York State Insurance Department was an award co-honoree.
Guardian's collective purchase of Israel Bonds has been more than $24 million. An additional $2 million investment from Guardian was pledged during Manning's speech at the awards ceremony.
