Dennis Manning Elected To Chief Executive Of Guardian
NEW YORK, November 25, 2002 - Guardian Life Insurance Company of America announced today that Dennis J. Manning has been elected Chief Executive Officer by the company's Board of Directors, effective Jan. 1, 2003. Mr. Manning will continue to serve as President of Guardian, as he has since January 2002.
Manning succeeds Joseph D. Sargent, who will retire on December 31, 2002. Sargent is retiring after a 43-year career with the company serving as President and CEO since 1996. He will remain a member of the company's board of directors.
Manning, 55, joined Guardian in 1983 as a General Agent in Houston, Texas. In 1991, he joined the home office as Vice President of Life Marketing and Agency Distribution. He held a number of positions in the field and home office before being named Chief Operating Officer in 2000.
