Executive Vice President Bruce Long Featured in Financial Advisor Magazine
In the June issue of Financial Advisor Magazine, Bruce Long, Executive Vice President, Equity Products, comments on the various annuity choices and options available to consumers.
The article, entitled "All Those Annuities," examines a number of factors influencing both annuity sales today and what the sale of certain products will mean for investors once they retire. Because of the recent market and economic conditions, one of the overwhelming factors affecting consumer decisions (and advisor recommendations) is low interest rates and the effect they are having on sales of fixed, variable and immediate annuities.
A key issue for consumers who are making decisions about what kind of an annuity to purchase is their time horizon. "If you believe in the markets, this is a buying time," said Executive Vice President Bruce Long. "I really do think there is wealth to be made in this bear market that will be realized when things get bullish again."
