Thomson Advisor ONE Positions Client's Interests at Center of the Financial Professional's Workflow To Deliver Highly Personalized And Consistent Investment Advice
New York, NY, February 3, 2003 Thomson Financial, an operating unit of The Thomson Corporation (NYSE: TOC; TSX: TOC), and leading provider of information and technology solutions to the worldwide financial community, today announced that The Guardian Insurance & Annuity Company, Inc. (GIAC) and Park Avenue Securities LLC (PAS) have selected Thomson Advisor ONE as their enterprise solution for delivery of wealth management services.
Thomson Advisor ONE is a customizable institutional-grade Web-based desktop solution that positions a client's interests at the center of a financial professional's workflow to deliver highly personalized and consistent investment advice. Tailored to the specifications of both GIAC agents and PAS registered representatives, Thomson Advisor ONE is a component of Thomson ONE, a flexible, open application framework that allows for easy integration and distribution of Thomson products, third party and proprietary products onto one convenient platform.
Thomson Advisor ONE simplifies the financial professional's workflow and streamlines client-servicing activities to enable higher quality and more efficient customer service for a large number of clients. All modules of Thomson Advisor ONE, including Asset Allocation, Financial Planning and Investment Center, are designed as an integrated suite of workflow tools that work together and share data, and are highly configurable to fit the needs of individual firms.
Utilizing the modules, financial professionals of both GIAC and PAS are able to design, implement and monitor the long-term investment strategies of their clients, as well as provide guidance on how to best preserve and transfer their wealth. Modules include:
— Advanced investment profiling and selection tools
— High-quality, NASD-compliant client presentations and reporting
— Portfolio management and re-balancing functionality
— Complete mutual fund, stock, variable annuities and indices databases.
"We are very excited to partner with Thomson for our wealth management services. We feel that these services will help us continue to grow our businesses," said James Clements, Vice President, Park Avenue Securities LLC.
"Selecting the right asset allocation strategy is especially challenging in the current economic environment. Using Thomson's technology, we are happy to offer customized programs which offer asset allocation solutions", said Peggy Coppola, Vice President, The Guardian Insurance & Annuity Company, Inc.
"Thomson Advisor ONE meets the entire workflow needs of the retail market," said William O'Conor, Managing Director, Thomson Retail and Wealth Management Services, Thomson Financial. "By seamlessly integrating wealth management tools and client account information, it helps improve the effectiveness of client services and ultimately, overall profitability," said O'Conor.
Thomson ONE is both an architecture and new service configured to the specific needs of institutional, brokerage and fixed income market professionals. Each component or product suite is tailored to a different audience: Thomson Equity ONE is aimed at the institutional equities market: Thomson Advisor ONE offers wealth management tools integrated with market data, and Thomson Yield ONE is the fixed income version to be introduced early this year. An investment banking component of Thomson ONE will be unveiled this month, with investment management and investor relations product suites being introduced later in 2003.
