NEW YORK, December 10, 2007 — The Guardian Life Insurance Company of America (Guardian), a leading provider of employee and voluntary benefit solutions to small and mid-sized companies, today announced two key enhancements to its Small Group Life product offering for groups with 2-9 lives. Available through its nationwide Small Group Sales (SGS) program, these enhancements are an expansion of options already available to larger groups to help meet employee benefit needs.
Effective immediately:
Guaranteed Issue: Guardian now offers guaranteed issue of up to $50,000 for businesses with 2-9 lives allowing employees group life coverage without medical examinations and requiring limited underwriting*.
Critical Income for Severe or Catastrophic Disability Standard: Guardian's LifeAssist feature, one of the first to offer small group plans the added option of protection in the event of severe disability, is now standard on all group life policies.
