A.M. Best Upgrades Guardian to Highest Rating
The credit rating organization A.M. Best Co. raised the credit and financial strength ratings for The Guardian Life Insurance Company of America from A+ (Superior) to A++ (Superior). This is the agency’s highest rating and applies to Guardian’s core subsidiaries The Guardian Life Insurance & Annuity Company, Inc. and Berkshire Life Insurance Company of America. Guardian is one of only seven life insurance companies to be upgraded by A.M. Best in 2008.
In a press release, A.M. Best stated, "Guardian has developed and implemented a comprehensive enterprise risk management strategy, which effectively measures, monitors and reduces insurance, operational and investment risks."
A.M. Best also noted the "ratings reflect Guardian's superior capitalization, maintenance of positive earnings trends and the organization's successful execution of several key strategic initiatives over the past several years." The full press release can be viewed here.
