New York, April 27, 2006 — The Guardian Life Insurance Company of America (Guardian) today announced the launch of a new proprietary web-based system that is designed to help financial representatives use the power of the Internet and technology to enable clients to instantly gauge their financial health and simplify their personal and business finances. Financial representatives and their clients can now coordinate accounts from a menu of more than 3000 financial institutions, access copies of important legal and financial documents from anywhere in the world, and get a comprehensive, up-to-date snapshot of their financial well-being through a "Living Balance Sheet.TM "

"We are excited to begin offering the Living Balance Sheet to our field force, which will transform the way our financial representatives do business," said David Allen, Senior Vice President, Individual Markets, Guardian, New York. "It will help our agents distinguish themselves in what has become an increasingly competitive environment."
Guardian asserts that the daily aggregation of the client's financial accounts from more than 3000 institutions and the ability for both the agent and client to simultaneously access the Living Balance Sheet portal have proven to be valuable to participants of the company's test pilot.
The Living Balance Sheet is based on a four-pronged platform that includes: protection, assets, liabilities and cash flow.
"The Living Balance Sheet TM enables Guardian"s financial representatives to help clients review specific account details in one location, working together from their personal computers," said Kathy Readinger, Director, Strategic Alliances, Individual Markets, Guardian, New York. "This is a remarkable tool that will help us to leverage client relationships, and help clients become more knowledgeable about their finances."
Another highlight of the Living Balance Sheet is an online vault that facilitates the electronic storage of copies of key documents
Added Allen, "The recent Hurricane Katrina disaster exposed the vulnerability of individuals and business owners who do not have electronic copies and access to important documents. Secure web-based storage of insurance documents, banking information, videos, legal papers and personal items like photos, is just one of the many features in The Living Balance Sheet that will make it easier for Guardian representatives and clients to monitor their finances."
Additional features of The Living Balance SheetTM include:
 | Charts and calculators that provide clients visual guides to their finances, including assets, liabilities, cash flow and insurance protection and a real-time calculation of their net worth.* |
 |
 | A personal website for clients that offers a comprehensive view of their financial picture. |
 |
 | Automated alerts and alarms to notify significant changes to a client's financial picture. |
 |
 | Awards tracking to monitor frequent flier miles and other award programs in one location. |
 |
The Living Balance SheetTM is now available to all Guardian financial representatives and their clients.
*The Living Balance Sheet displays the financial holdings identified by the client based upon information and valuations provided directly by the client or by electronic feeds from the client's financial institutions. Valuations provided by electronic feeds reflect the most current information provided by the financial institution as of the date and time noted, but can reflect valuations from an earlier date and time.
