McLean, VA, June 1, 2006 —The National Association of Women Business Owners will honor The Guardian Life Insurance Company of America (Guardian) as its 2006 Corporate Partner of the Year during NAWBO's 2006 Women's Business Conference, from June 1-3, in San Francisco, California.
The 2006 Corporate Partner of the Year Award is selected by NAWBO's president with recommendation from the vice president of corporate & economic development and the staff. It is based on how the partner's efforts and relationship helped to advance NAWBO's mission. Guardian joined with NAWBO this year to focus on an area critical within NAWBO's strategic plan— to help increase NAWBO's overall diversity.
To that end, Guardian funded the Spanish translation of NAWBO's Web site, as well as the development of a new marketing piece geared toward Latina entrepreneurs. Guardian also supported the first-ever awards to chapters in their diversity recruitment efforts. This kind of investment in new programs make Guardian a true partner in advancing NAWBO.
"The resources, products and services that Guardian has provided to our members assists women entrepreneurs in reaching the next level in business," said Erin M. Fuller, NAWBO's executive director. "I applaud Guardian and look forward to a long and successful working relationship."
NAWBO's executive director, Erin M. Fuller will present the award during the luncheon on Saturday, June 3.
"We are deeply honored to receive the Corporate Partner of the Year award from NAWBO," said Emily Viner, Guardian vice president, Individual Markets. "Our work with NAWBO is part of our commitment to enrich the lives of the communities that we serve. Diversity is a core value at Guardian and we recognize the importance of developing more opportunities for and building relationships with women and minority business owners. In this regard, NAWBO's goals complement our efforts. We look forward to continuing our successful relationship with NAWBO."
