NEW YORK, August 22, 2008 — The Guardian Life Insurance Company of America (Guardian) today announced that it has hired industry veteran Dale Magner to its leadership team. Magner brings more than 20 years of experience within retirement plan sales and distribution to his new post as Vice President of Retirement Product Sales. He assumed his responsibilities on August 12.
Magner will be responsible for developing Guardian’s sales strategy to drive the company’s continued growth in the small to mid-size qualified plan market. His expanded duties will include the management of Guardian’s retirement plan wholesaling force. Magner will report to Margaret W. Skinner, Executive Vice President of Guardian’s Individual Products Distribution organization.

Magner joins Guardian from John Hancock Retirement Plan Services where he held a number of positions of increasing responsibility, most recently serving as Regional Sales Manager.
Magner has a J.D. from Wake Forest University Law School and a B.S. in Business Administration from the Oregon State University.
