NEW YORK, April 23, 2008 — The Guardian Life Insurance Company of America (Guardian) today announced that Lisa Powell has been appointed Vice President, Advanced Sales, Individual Products Distribution. Lisa joins Guardian from AXA Equitable.
In her new role, Powell is responsible for managing a centralized team of experts who assist in supporting Guardian representatives in providing solutions for individuals and business owners for advanced business planning and protection, estate planning and retirement.
Powell is a member of The Association for Advanced Life Underwriting (AALU), the State Bar of Georgia and the Society of Financial Service Professionals. She holds both CLU and ChFC designations and is a LIMRA Leadership Institute Fellow (LLIF).
Kurt Shallow has also joined Guardian as Vice President, Risk Products Distribution. Formerly of Principal Financial Group, Shallow brings over 26 years of industry experience in underwriting, product development and sales to his new post. Shallow will lead national sales wholesaling over all risk products. He will also play a key role in building Guardian’s Bank Owned Life Insurance (BOLI) and Company Owned Life Insurance (COLI) distribution capabilities.
Additionally, Bryan Tutor has joined Guardian as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, Individual Products Distribution. In this new position, Tutor will be responsible for overseeing finance, sales technology and operations, strategy and inside sales support.
